Will the Turmeric oral spray cause staining?
The encapsulation process we use make the turmeric molecules more bioavailable, also helps reduce staining.
However, turmeric is a bright orange spice and staining can still occur, so we recommend avoiding contact with clothes and other surfaces to prevent this problem.
The turmeric supplement can cause temporary discolouration of the tongue and teeth, though do not worry, this won't last long. To avoid this, try spraying directly on to the back of inner cheek, near the molars, or use before brushing your teeth.
What is the curcumin content in the Turmeric spray?
Four sprays of the Turmeric oral spray contains 27mg of the three active curcuminoids (6.75mg per spray).
Should I take all four sprays together or spread it throughout the day?
This is down to personal preference, either way provides optimal absorption. Though you may find it easier to take them all together to ensure you don't forget a dose.
The oral sprays do not need to be taken with food or a drink so can be used at your convenience.
Our studies have found that the best place for absorption are on the inside of the cheek. When using multiple sprays we would recommend spraying in this area.
Is the Turmeric spray suitable for children?
The Turmeric oral spray is perfectly suitable for children aged 3 years and above. For children under 12 years of age we recommend halving the dosage, as their daily supplementation need is lower than that of an adult.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes! All BetterYou's packaging is fully recyclable.
How long will the Turmeric spray?
There are 128 sprays/32 doses in the bottle of Turmeric Oral Spray. If following the recommended daily dosage (4 spray per dose) this will last 32 days.
Do I need to take the spray with food or drink?
No. Our oral sprays avoid primary processing by the digestive system, meaning it can be taken at any time of day with or without food. The active ingredients are delivered directly into the bloodstream via the inner cheek.
Do I need to take piperine black pepper with the Turmeric spray?
No. While piperine is one technique commonly used to enhance the bioavailability of turmeric, our Turmeric supplement instead utilises a technique called cyclodextrin encapsulation.
This process makes the turmeric molecules highly water soluble, preventing them from clumping together. This enables the molecules to be absorbed through the highly absorbent tissue in the mouth, rather than relying on digestive absorption.
Can turmeric be used during pregnancy?
No. There is some research that suggests high dose turmeric supplements aren’t suitable during pregnancy, as they can cause the uterus to contract. For this reason, we do not recommend use during pregnancy.
Are there any contraindications with Turmeric oral spray?
There are no interactions with any other products or medications when using the Turmeric supplement.
However, we always recommend speaking to your GP before starting any dietary supplements if you are on any medications or have any medical conditions.
