Suggested Use

Bath

  • Add 250g Magnesium Mind Flakes (roughly 2 cups) per bath.
  • Lie back and relax for 20 minutes.

Footbath

  • Add 150g Magnesium Mind Flakes (roughly 1 cup) to approx. 5 litres of water, enough to cover feet.
  • Sit and relax for 20 minutes.

Dosage

  • 750g of Magnesium Mind Flakes contains 90g magnesium.

Storage

  • Magnesium Flakes are very hygroscopic and will quickly absorb moisture if left opened. Store in a dry place and quickly reseal opened bags.
  • Use within 12 months of opening.
  • This packaging can be recycled with other household plastics.

Unlike other pouch linings, BetterYou pouches do not contain chlorine, dioxins, toxic gases or harmful metals but are composed of carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. They are even more efficient as our linings have a 10,000 times greater gas barrier than standard LDPE film hence preserving Flake freshness while helping to reduce waste.

What is the source of the magnesium chloride?

The magnesium chloride we use is a solution mined in Veendam in the Netherlands. It is mined from an ancient seabed that has been condensed and purified for over 250 million years.

To mine the magnesium chloride, spring water is carefully pumped down to dissolve the seam and the solution is brought up to the surface. This solution is the foundation of our Magnesium products

Is magnesium safe to take orally?

BetterYou's magnesium supplements have been developed to be applied directly to the skin, so we do not recommend taking them orally.

I take medication, are there any contraindications?

There are no contraindications with any of BetterYou's transdermal magnesium products.

However, we always recommend speaking to your GP before starting any dietary supplements if you are on any medications or have any medical conditions.

Can I use transdermal magnesium during pregnancy?

Transdermal magnesium is perfectly safe to use during pregnancy with no restrictions on dosage levels during this time.

While some essential oils are advised to be avoid during pregnancy, those included in our products (with the exception of Basil in Mind Flakes) are classified as safe. However, if you have any concerns relating to your own health, please seek the advise of your midwife or GP before starting any dietary supplements.

Can I overdose on transdermal magnesium?

You do not need to worry about overdosing when using transdermal magnesium. Upper limits are only set when using the product orally, as large doses can have a laxative effect due to it being a natural relaxant.

Toxic symptoms from increased magnesium intake are not common as the body eliminates excess amounts, unless there are serious problems with kidney function.

However, we always recommend speaking to your GP before starting any dietary supplements if you are on any medications or have any medical conditions.
